HI Street Kitchen + Tap is a half plant-based, half carnivorous restaurant based in San Diego in need of a rebranding. They have a Hawaiian-inspired menu with some asian flair and a craft beer selection. HI Street was in need of a logo that embraces who they are, but is also visually appealing for a variety of uses (T-shirts, beer mugs, coasters, takeout bags/containers, and business cards). Their slogan is "Veggies for some. Meats for others. Flavors for everyone."
HI Street also needed a new menu design that was visually appealing but also had a clean layout showcasing their various dishes and beverages.

LOGO SKETCHES
After brainstorming, I sketched out some rough drafts of my ideas for the HI Street logo. I decided to take the restaurant’s slogan (“Veggies for some. Meat for others. Flavors for everyone”) and translate that into the logo design. I had the idea of doing an interpretation of the yin yang symbol, with meat representing the yin and veggies the yang.

COLOR PALETTE
I went with a square tri-fold brochure for their menu that can be used for both customers dining in or getting takeout. The HI Street restaurant offers a modern take on Asian cuisine with a casual atmosphere. The menu design needed to reflect this aesthetic. It was also important to create a design layout that customers could easily navigate through the various dishes.
